Paleo Almond Banana Cacao Smoothie

November 25, 2013 By Caitlin Weeks

Paleo Almond Banana Cacao Smoothie

This Paleo Almond Banana Cacao Smoothie is an awesome gluten free smoothie with protein and healthy fats.

This Paleo Almond Banana Cacao Smoothie is a great option for quick and easy breakfast. This dessert will hit the spot when you are on the go!

I made it at home, as you can see and it was so filling!

This recipe is on loan from Spunky Coconut’s Paleo Chocolate Lovers Cookbook, here

Paleo Almond Banana Cacao Smoothie

Ingredients:

1 (13-ounce) can full-fat coconut milk, chilled

1/2 banana, refrigerated

4 ice cubes

2 tablespoons raw almond butter

1-2 tablespoons raw cacao powder to taste

1 teaspoon honey or

5 drops liquid stevia

pinch of sea salt

2 tbsp grass fed gelatin (optional)

Directions:

1) In a blender, puree all ingredients – coconut milk, banana, ice cubes, almond butter, raw cacao, honey, liquid stevia, and salt until completely smooth

(My variation: add 2 tbsp of gelatin at this point a blend a few more seconds)

2) Serve in 1 or 2 glasses

Makes 1 large or 2 small smoothies

Enjoy!

Thank you for this recipe! I have been looking for a cacao-type dessert smoothie for a while now! It looks awesome.

The protein content is terrible —
1 gram in the coconut milk
4 gm in the Almond butter

These are most wonderful, I am officially addicted to these. They are perfect for a little energy in the morning or in the afternoon. Thanks for the recipe.
