Keto Chocolate Smoothie

It has been so hot here and I just can’t get enough smoothies. It is very important to make smoothie with the right amount of protein and fat to stay full on focused until lunch. Watch my video about how to make a good smoothie on Periscope here. This Keto Chocolate Smoothie has gelatin that can help heal the gut lining and support supple joints and soft skin.  It also has resistant starch which feeds good bacteria and will help you have better digestion. If you are concerned about carbs, leave it out but for many people it doesn’t affect blood sugar.

Keto Chocolate Smoothie Recipe

This Keto Chocolate Smoothie is an easy breakfast full of healthy protein and fats. This Paleo, low carb, gluten free, dairy free and sugar free smoothie is great for summer time. It will hit the spot when you are on the go!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 3 pastured eggs optional
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 tablespoons resistant starch optional
  • or green banana
  • or plantain
  • 1/4 cup flax
  • or chia
  • 1/2 teaspoon stevia extract or to taste
  • 2 tablespoons collagen gelatin
  • 1 tablespoon grass fed whey
  • 2 cups ice
  • 1 cup water
  • pinch sea salt

Instructions

  1. Blend everything together until smooth.
  2. Pour into a cup and enjoy.

Recipe Notes

Leave out resistant starch if you are concerned about carbs, but for many people it does not affect the blood sugar.

    Is resistant starch safe for people on ketogenic diets or will it kick them out of ketosis?
