Keto Carnivore Butter Coffee

I made this Keto Carnivore Butter Coffee as a treat of sorts for myself  while I am doing carnivore diet because I love my morning coffee but drinking it black is a little rough. I also share video of my carnivore diet frothy butter coffee recipe and tips about consuming coffee on a carnivore diet below on this page.

I have been doing the carnivore diet for almost 3 months now since Oct 1, 2018 (this post was written Dec 13, 2018) which makes 2.5 months of just 99% just eating meat, seafood, eggs and fat. I have not been doing intermittent fasting in the morning but I wanted to try seeing how a bulletproof type coffee felt. I usually eat eggs or a hamburger patty but I like to switch it up. I have been eating a few spices and coffee which are plant foods but if they make me stick with this plan for the long haul then it seems more sustainable. One of the hardest thing to give up for me is stevia but I think it has helped me control my sugar cravings. Read about my first 30 days on carnivore here.

If you don’t know I started the carnivore diet because I have terribly slow digestion and thyroid problems for many years. I also had a very hard time losing weight but now I have lost 18 lbs in 2.5 months without being hungry. In fact I eat all the meat, eggs and fat I want. Most of the time I super full rather than thinking about food. Usually I am show ketones in my blood at all times of the day which is why I call it the Keto Carnivore Diet.

I hope you like this Keto Carnivore Butter Coffee recipe because it also has sea salt added to help with electrolyte balance that is often disrupted with keto. I try to eat 1 teaspoon of sea salt per day to keep my energy up and feel balanced. I use this salt because it has the right balance of minerals on a ketogenic diet.

I also used collagen in this recipe that comes from grass fed cows and it is unflavored to keep it simple for the carnivore diet. The one I use is from my friends over at Perfect Keto is my favorite because it makes my skin, hair and nails look amazing. Collagen is a food that many people miss out on because we don’t eat enough soup or meats on the bone. Traditional cultures had diets rich in these important amino acids that are found in collagen. Getting in a powder makes it easier to mix into smoothies and Keto Carnivore Butter Coffee. This one has a little bit of mct oil which helps boost ketones but if you are being super strict on Carnivore you may want to use a brand without coconut oil in it because it is plant based.

Keto Carnivore Butter Coffee

Ingredients

  • 3 cups hot coffee I use decaf
  • 2 tablespoons ghee or grassfed butter
  • 2 tablespoons Collagen
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • *optional add in's*
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 drop nutmeg vitality essential oil
  • stevia to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients in the blender until it is frothy, serve and enjoy.

    Wondering if you could share what a day on the carnivore diet looks like for you. Just started was doing low carb first then keto with little to no results. Watched a Dr. Barry video where he mentioned the carnivore diet so I just started this week. I also have thyroid issues and am on meds, my lymes is in remission.
