Paleo Eggnog Smoothie Recipe

July 18, 2015 By Caitlin Weeks

I love making smoothies for breakfast especially when it is hot outside. I threw this one together because I was out of cocoa and it ended up tasting like egg nog. That is one of my favorite treats over the holidays and this way you can have Christmas in July.  I like to add extra protein to make them filling such as gelatin, grass fed whey or raw pastured eggs.

You only need a drop or two of thieves vitality to keep your immune system stay in top form while it adds amazing flavor to your smoothie. Please keep in mind I only recommend Young Living Vitality Line essential oils for ingestion and only for adults when used internally.

If you don’t have essential oils handy you can use ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon while you wait on your order to arrive.

Paleo Eggnog Smoothie Recipe

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: NA

Serves: 1 to 2

Ingredients:

3 eggs (use pastured eggs, find them here)

1 tablespoon collagen hydosolate (I use this brand)

1/2 cup coconut milk (or organic whipping cream)

2 drops thieves vitality essential oil

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

2 tablespoons golden flax or chia

1/2 teaspoon stevia or sweetener of choice

2 cups ice

1/2 to 1 cup filtered water (I use this filter)

Directions:

Place all the ingredients in the blender. I use a Vitamix because it has a great stick mixing feature that helps to combine the contents to blend smoothly. If it is too thick add a little bit more water and keep blending.
