Calming Passion Tea Cooler – I made this tea for my little sister on a recent visit home. We sat on the deck in the Memorial day sun with our feet up. I just threw some herbal teas together from the cabinet and it turned into this relaxing cooler that is perfect for summer. Benefits of Chamomile: Chamomile is well known for it’s sleep enhancing qualities because it is a mild sedative. Chamomile can also help relax tight muscles. You may not know that it boosts your immune system to help reduce seasonal illness because it has anti-viral and anti-fungal properties. It is well known to reduce IBS and calm stomach aches. Benefits of Hibiscus: Hibiscus is a common ingredient in many passion teas with traditional use in countries closer to the equator, such as Jamaica, Egypt and even Thailand. It has been used for centuries as a festive as well as therapeutic drink in these regions. It is a mild diuretic to help reduce bloating. Some people report that they have found relief from menstrual cramps after drinking hibiscus tea. It has also been shown in many studies to lower blood pressure. I have also read that it can help with blood sugar regulation for type 2 diabetics.
