Tues night I was honored to attend the release party for Practical Paleo. A ton of my real food, paleo peeps showed up to get their books signed in person by the queen of bacon herself Miss Diane SanFilippo. It was held at The Brickyard bar and the food was catered by Roam, which is next door. Me and Diane used to eat at Roam a lot before she moved back to NJ in November 2011. Me and Diane were classmates at Bauman College and (neighbors on Polk St) and I am so excited to see her publishing her first book.
People lined up for four hours to buy books and get them personally signed by the Paleo Princess.
There was amazing food of course all arranged by Diane. It was my first time to have elk burgers and they were divine! I think I left a one or two for the other party goers.
Simone is a paleo caterer and chef from Zenbelly blog. She is doing restaurant pop-ups this month, check here for details.
Diane Esqueda is a fellow Nutrition Consultant from Bauman college. She was in the same program as me and now she is working for JJ Virgin in Palm Springs. She just happened to be in town on a little vacation with her husband so she stopped by the party.
My new friend, acupuncturist Uni Hong was there and we had a fascinating talk about the dangers of flouride. Sophia from Sophia’s Survival Food, who makes yummy jerky. Also my friend Chrissy Bernazzani who is also a Bauman student and was my roommate at Paleo FX.
Diane’s friend and celebrity functional medicine doctor, Dan Kalish stopped by with his teaching assistant Keri Brooks. He even gave me his new book that I am excited about called The Kalish Method: Healing the Body, Mapping the Mind.
I was delighted to meet Danielle from the blog Against All Grain. My friend Kate Karo (Food for Thought on Facebook) nutritional therapist and chef showed up to meet Diane and get the book.
My friend Whitney (also a paleo die hard) and me got Diane to sign a book for her to take home.
Diane was a real trooper talking to all her fans and smiling for so long. I know she is overwhelmed by all the support she has received from her fans. I took her to the airport after the party and she was off to the big paleo convention, The Ancestral Health Symposium at Harvard.
If you have not bought Diane’s amazing book yet please use the link below and support Grass Fed Girl. It is a great gift for those in your family who may be suffering with Autoimmune diseases, weight issues, depression, fatigue and many other common health ailments. It is over 400 pages of recipes, meal plans, and tear out guides, with amazing photos.
