Do you go to the grocery store but don’t know where to start when trying to make healthy choices? Here are 3 steps to follow to get a fresh start on a healthy lifestyle.
1. Shop the perimeter- The real food is always around the outside of the store. It usually does not have labels or even ingredients list becasue it is meat, eggs and vegetables.
2. Avoid bread and crackers- Unfortunately whole grains are not the health food they are advertised to be. They are very limited in nutrition and even can block other nutrients from being absorbed that contribute to cravings. Try to get away from the sandwich mentality for improved health!
3. Eschew the sugar- sugar is hiding in so many foods and it can disrupt hormones that stimulate cravings. Over time sugar can contribute to diabetes and other inflammatory conditions.
