5 Best Young Living Essential Oils for Perfume
Many people may not realize that perfume is full of nasty chemicals that can clog our systems and mess up hormones. Just the word fragrance can be up to 300 chemicals and only be labeled by the word “fragrance”. Also many cosmetic companies do not disclose the the ingredients they use in their products because they say it is proprietary information and trade secrets. Many of the chemicals used in perfume are labeled as hazardous waste by the EPA and can cause respiratory symptoms, eye irritation and headaches even immune problems. Is that something you want to put on your skin or spray around your kids everyday?
A much better option is to use natural essential oils that actually support a healthy body while they make you smell and feel amazing. There are some blends that smell wonderful as perfume and also ones that are just singles that smell great alone as perfume. Remember I only recommend Young Living essential oils because they are a 20 year old company that owns their own organic farms and distilleries all over the world. No other company the oversight and control every part of the process that they guarantee with Seed to Seal promise.
Grapefruit essential oil:
It has a light scent that is very refreshing. It is always uplifting and can make even the hardest day fly by. It is mild enough to be put right on your skin. Make sure to apply to wrists and smell them every few minutes. Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) essential oil includes the naturally occurring constituent limonene. Grapefruit is a delightful way to enhance the flavor of meals and water and it is great for supporting healthy weight maintenance (read more here). To use just put a few drops on your wrists or neck. Also you can spread it over a larger area of skin by diluting with coconut oil.
Melissa essential oil:
Melissa oil is strengthening and revitalizing, yet soothing and calming. It was an important ingredient in Carmelite water (distilled in France since 1611 by members of the Carmelite Order). Several studies report that Melissa oil may benefit the skin. It is also comforting during the winter season and supports healthy immune function. I first tried this one at the Young Living Convention where there was a table to try all the oils in one place, as much as we wanted. It was so much fun and one drop of Melissa and I was hooked. I have never smelled anything like it but I could not get enough!
Lavender essential oil:
Is a very popular fragrance but most of the ones you have smelled before are synthetic and won’t have health supporting benefits. Often times they have a very little bit of natural lavender that is usually mixed with a chemical to stretch the expensive oils but what you are left with is not going to smell or work very well. So spring for the the real deal and avoid most of the fake stuff on the shelves. Young Living has farms in Utah that were planted with Lavender from St. Maries in France. It has been cultivated for years and is off the charts for its therapeutic benefit while leaving you smelling fresh and feeling relaxed. Just put a few drops on your wrists or neck or in your diffuser whenever you want to feel or smell better!
Jasmine essential oil:
Jasmine is an absolute or essence rather than essential oil which means it is not one for ingestion. It is made with solvents and best for topical use such as perfume. The sweet, floral aroma of jasmine relaxes the mind, boosts self-confidence and promotes a positive outlook on life. It has been used throughout history for romance and attraction. This scent has been used for thousand of years in the middle east and Africa for smelling exotic and promoting a positive outlook. It helps with sexual attraction and balances male and female energy.
Stress Away essential oil:
Rose essential oil:
Rose (Rosa damascena) has a beautiful, strong floral and sweet fragrance that is intoxicating and highly romantic and used as an aphrodisiac. It helps bring balance and harmony with stimulating and uplifting properties that create a sense of well-being and self-confidence. It has been used for skin care for thousands of years. It can even help promote self confidence and harmony in day to day life. It can be used topically and aromatically in a diffuser.

I am 75 years old and have just started using ‘young living’ oils – I don’t sleep at night without sleeping pills. I know this is a hormone imbalance, so what oils can help a woman of my age

I would try progessence for healthy hormones and cedarwood and lavender for sleep support. Also balance blood sugar with a Paleo diet. Thanks for reading.
