Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 pack Egg Life wraps
  • 13 oz can tomato sauce sugar free
  • 16 oz ricotta or whole milk cottage cheese
  • 24 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper to taste
  • grated parmesan for topping

Instructions

  1. Begin by cooking the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it up as it simmers. Season it with garlic powder, oregano, and salt for an aromatic and savory base.
  2. Assemble your lasagna in an 8x8 pan, starting with a thin layer of tomato sauce at the bottom.
  3. Layer the egg wraps along the edges, creating a base for the lasagna. Some people have used turkey slices but I never tried it.

  4. Add sliced mozzarella cheese, ensuring a generous layer spread evenly.

  5. Follow with about half the cooked ground beef, spreading it evenly.

  6. Layer the ricotta (or cottage cheese), about 1/3 of it.

  7. Repeat the layering process with sauce, wraps, meat, and cheese until the pan is full.
  8. Top off the lasagna with remaining tomato sauce and parmesan cheese.

  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F and cover the pan with foil, allowing it to bake for approximately 45 minutes.
  10. Uncover the lasagna for the final 10-15 minutes, to brown the top, giving it that perfect finishing touch.

  11. Once baked, the lasagna emerges from the oven with a tantalizing aroma and a perfect melding of flavors. Slice it up, savor the moment, and relish each bite of this flavorful dish.
