Janurary 4th, 2014 was a crazy awesome day because Nom Nom Paleo and Chris Kresser had their book premier party in San Francisco.
It was so fun because all your favorite Paleo Bloggers were in one place.
I was so excited to be invited to both of these parties because I have followed their work for so long. I met Michelle and Henry back in the day at the very first AHS at UCLA in 2011, which is was like a million years ago in internet land. They were sitting outside with lunch boxes full of Paleo treats and they offered me a bunch of their goodies. They have always been so nice to me and I was so excited when I saw their book come in my mailbox. It was just like all their other work..beautiful and amazing!! I love the way the whole family is featured in the book through real pictures and cartoons. The reader feels like they get to know the family. It really raises the bar for Paleo cookbooks. Make Nom Nom part of your family by getting their great book! They make leaving out grains seem fun for all!
Nom Nom’s Party was in downtown SF at BOX SF. There were great snacks by my friend Simone from Zenbelly, pre order her book here:
There were sausage stuffed mushrooms, bacon wrapped dates and salon on crackers (pictured below). It was ridiculously yummy!
Here is my husband and I posing with Nom Nom.’
This one was from a few days later at the Balanced Bites by Diane Sanfilippo signing, but you can’t leave out Michelle’s husband and co-author Henry!
We even made the Nom Nom photo booth video! See if you can see us…
The greatest part was a coffee bar where they were making bulletproof coffee and coconut milk lattes which was appreciated because this party was at 11 am on a Saturday morning. I had a coconut Latte and it was amazeballs!
A pic of the salmon with nut cheese ricotta on grain free crackers. I ate a bunch of these. This recipe is in Nom Nom and Henry’s book.
I was so excited to meet Melissa Joulwan author of Well Fed 2 and spend more time with @Zenbelly.
Then I got to meet the Gluten Free Girl author of Gluten free Girl Everyday!! It is so cool to meet new people! She was down here from Seattle and it seemed like her crew was having a great time!
This was a really fun pic with Arsy, author of the Paleo Slow cooker from Rubies and Radishes, Stacy from Paleo Parents author of the great books Eat like a Dinosaur and Beyond Bacon, Aimee Buxton photographer, me and of course the photogenic Danielle from Against All Grain.
Another great pic with Arsy from Rubies and Radishes, our husbands and her adorable daughter Indyanna.
It was so fun to meet everyone and then we left to get a grass fed burger at Roam, then a nap before the big Chris Kresser Soiree in Berkley, CA.
I met Chris in 2011 when Diane and I sat next to him at a functional blood chemistry seminar taught by Dr. Datis Kharazian. Good times!
He was so friendly and let us (Carla from Wise Roots and my me and my husband) take our picture with him. I have been listening to his podcast forever and have them all memorized. I am big fan of his template approach and how he doesn’t say you can never have this or that. He just feels that you will probably be healthier if beans and grains (plus never eat vegetable oil!!) are not a main part of your diet. Did you get his book yet?
Get his New York Times Best selling book here.
Nom Nom and Stacy were there and I got to see Julie Mayfield from Paleo Comfort Foods!
Also I didn’t get a picture but I had a nice chat with Diana Rogers author of Paleo Lunches and Breakfasts on the Go!
Last but not least a photo with my dinner table Stacy from Paleo Parents, Aimee Buxton photographer, me and Danielle from Against All Grain and Carla from Wise Roots. The food was also done by @Zenbelly and we had awesome chocolate cake and braised beef short ribs! Nom nom nom!!
Thanks for reading! I hope you felt like you were there!
